a judge will decide if a lawsuit brought by families of the victims of the sandy hook elementary massacre can go forward. the families of the victims are trying to sue the companies that make the ar-15 rifle. that's the gun adam lanza used to kill twenty childern and six adults back in december of 20-12. recent test of a federal law designed to protect gun makers from liability when their guns are used in crimes. since the lawmakers passed the "protection lawful commerce in arms" act in 2005, nearly every lawsuit like this against gunmakers has been dismissed. a relative found a couple and their four children dead in their home outside of detroit. investigators say they think everyone in the house died of carboon monoxide poisoning. the children range in age from two to eleven. the sheriff says a generator was running in the lower floor of the house. someone left it on after power outages in the area friday night.
