of course, even when you are visiting the international spy museum, you are under surveillance when you are in east berlin. that surveillance can be seen in our office. here we are in our stasi office where a person could wash surveillance feed taking place in the hotel room. we have a lot of different artifacts in here all of which reflect the incredible expertise in doing surveillance. one of my favorite artifacts here is our bra camera. it was actually the invention of four stasi female officers. e have the file that shows how this was invented. they made a proposal to stasi ecause they said, especially during the summer months, there eally wasn't any clothing that helped women conceal surveillance cameras on their body. that would be unobtrusive. they devised this camera. you can see the lenses right in the middle. there is a wire that comes out from behind and the camera could be activated with this plunger here that would be in the pocket of your summer dress. we have some surveillance hotos taken by this camera which you can see in the back, and the four women were given a reward

it was such a secret weapon, there was never even a good list of them on it. they did not have a good idea how many were on it. when we went in, when i was first, we were thinking maybe they were nine fellows on there. not recorded, not sure. one of the things we were not sure you do, would there be a gone there because one thing is there is a lot of marine life that likes calcium. if marine life can get access to those bones, there could be a lot of deterioration and other things. we did not know if there would be other bones. i was asked by the people in charge, the u.s. navy, to bring in my team to assist in that. it would be him sit -- in somerset bowl -- you have got to take off the plates. slowly but surely, they were taking off and got to a wonderful state now. it took years for the navy to get the book completed related to recovering from a exterior now we're are working on the volume up against with an interior. that is something we will contribute chapters two. going into it, one of the things you see, there draped in clause -- cloth to keep it wet.
