valerie bragg is live with the very latest. valerie. >> reporter: mark, i have been in contact with sheriff taylor throughout the day and as of case. if you remember last week, there was law enforcement all campus. they set up a barricade out front and not allowing anyone unauthorized to come on to their campus. today looked like any other normal school day. classes were back in session as usual. we did see a car drive through campus while they were there. when i asked sheriff taylor today if they received any leads about this threat, he told me his department is following up on several, and this investigation is still very active. now we are not being told what exactly the threat is. the sheriff taylor did say last week that he is confident his office has to stop this threat, and he assures the community about a quarter of hargrave's students remain on campus throughout the weekend with no incidents reported to us. we will continue to stay on top of this case and bring you the latest information as we get it. live, valerie bra

our valerie bragg is getting frank answers from local law enforcement and joins us now live with this story. >> reporter: noreen, i have been investigating this story for the past six weeks on the conditions to remain anonymous. we asked some of our local law enforcement if all the scrutiny has made them his tight pull the trigger in a deadly situation. some of the answers may shock you. boston police commissioner bill evans talking about an officer-involved shooting in is always on the news. >> tonight, that criminal is dead, gunned down by police. >> reporter: another day, another officer-involved shooting. since the riots in ferguson, law enforcement is under close watch by the public eye, and it is getting the heads of our local law enforcement. >> police transport. picking a prisoner up. >> reporter: i reached out to police departments across the area and asked them to take in an anonymous survey. i asked if this he fear making national headline it is they ever have to fire their weapon. nearly three out of four officers said yes. i asked if do you, do you feel the fear of making

valerie bragg is live in danville now with more on this story. valerie? >> reporter: noreen, drnc ceo tells me just for the past six months, he has seen more than 25 gunshot or stab wound victims come throughout er. i asked them, why did this shooting prompt him to start addressing violence. he tells me because this one hits close to home, but it is not any more important than any other victim. >> sometimes there are catalysts that make things change. >> reporter: police stepped up patrols in the west main area, but some neighbors still feel uneasy. whenever i get out of my car, looking around making sure no one will come at me. >> reporter: police are sorting through tips and searching for any clues that could lead them to a suspect. now drmc says it is time for the hospital to step in and help fight crime. >> this is not the only incident. there are other parts of the community where violence exists as well. so i think the -- the bigger concern sieve working collaboratively with the police and chief broad foot coming and meeting today to talk about crim
