let's talk about this with cnn senior political reporter who is in washington. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell was quick to say he didn't think the president should nominate a replacement for scalia. president obama vowed he will nominate someone quickly. how long could the process drag out? >> quite sometime if you look at histor historical, typically they take 67 days on average. the longest when robert -- nomination was rejected three decades ago. that took 108 days. this is poised to smash that record. we are looking at right now mcconnell saying the president should not nominate anyone. if he sticks to his demand and decides not to allow a confirmation vote on the senate floor and if they deny a confirmation hearing in the senate, judiciary committee it is certainly likely there will be no nominee confirmed this year. that means it will drag on to the next presidency. it could take two or three months in the next administration. we can look for more than year. the question is whether or not political pressure will force republicans to change. >> i'm

let's go back to wolf in washington. >> our political directors, you are looking at all the numbers. who showed up and what they won. >> he asked the voters as they showed up, what are you looking for in a candidate quality. this will help explain to everyone watching why ted cruz is where he is. take a look at this. among the voters that said i am looking for a candidate who shares my values, ted cruz is demolishing the field. 37% for cruz and 21% for rubio and 16% for carson and 7% for paul. that is 41% of the republican electorate. that was an important quality. when we asked about the quality of someone who can win, the electability question. rubio and 25% for trump and 22% for cruz and 2% for carly fiorina. not as many caucus goers looking for electability as for someone who shares their values. this quality, telling it like it is, that is the donald trump thing. that is what he is campaigning on. 67% of voters looking for a candidate who said i want someone who tells it like it is. only 15% of the republican caucus going electorate is looking for that quality. with four oust te

we have to do it in washington. third, we need entitlement reform, and we need to reform our social security system. i would repeal obama care and replace it with a consumer directed model that would -- in lieu of all the subsidies and taxes and all the mandates, we would shift all this away from washington, create state exchanges that are not coercive, and have catastrophic coverage be the norm. low premium, catastrophic coverage with preexisting conditions being the one standard that would be kept from obamacare in allowing your young adults, children to stay on your plan should you so desire, and give people that aren't receiving insurance through their company a $3100 tax credit. a refundable tax credit to allow them to purchase on exchanges, allow them to cross lines, allow them to pick the best plan for themselves and their families. this would be a far less costly way and would deal with these outyear costs of obamacare that are going to be devastating. similarly, medicare needs to have reforms and social sec
