too many people in washington are telling voters they're wrong, washington knows best, and what we have right now is a process where more people are helping decide our nominee. that's supposed to happen. for the washington post to sit here and criticize our side when you have a self-described socialist as a leading candidate for the democratic party. think about that. we're a capitalistic society. we're the most amazing country on earth, and they sit back and say, oh, it's no big deal that you have a socialist that wants to take this country in a vastly different direction. i don't really put too much stock in what the washington post editorial page has to say. >> you talked about the consolidated calendar. the rnc is doing it a little bit differently this time. how hard does it make it for candidates to come back if they fall behind early? after next tuesday they could be behind by a lot. it's hard to come back after that. >> with the rnc did this cycle is ensure proportionality. when you win a state right now, the phase up until march 15th is proportion proportional. it's only 10 of t

i don't live in washington d.c. i live in wisconsin so i'm very close to i think what the average, every day republican primary voter looks like and thinks about and i think that there was never an appetite for jeb bush from the beginning. it was -- the idea was that, you know, it sounded good on paper and looked good in a big play book that they put together and they thought they could just really raise a lot of money and create an appetite for it. i think the good news for america sadly for jeb bush is that this proves that money does not buy elections. he had more money than god and he could not convince more than 6% of whatever primary he was in to vote for him. so i think in a sense we can all be happy that elections cannot be bought in the united states. they're really the voice of the people that have to be listened to and i would say from the beginning that there never was on the ground in the base in the grass roots an appetite for a jeb bush campaign. >> we have to leave it right there. thanks so much to b

money and the stamina and the fact that you have ted cruz who is not liked by the establishment in washington. you have donald trump who if you add them both together you have over 50% of the vote. not liked by them. how much money do you think goes to marco rubio after today? >> well, i think that is the big decision that establishment candidates or the establishment part of the republican party, the centrist part, if you will, however you want to call it, they have to make a decision if they really want to put their power behind somebody like marco rubio. because if not, then, you know, we're sitting here talking about scenarios for ted cruz to go on longer. for marco rubio to go on longer. i talked about how donald trump is leading in every single other poll and every single other state outside of iowa. that is why those kinds of scenarios, if people don't start getting out and getting out fast and consolidating behind one or two candidates other than trump, i still think trump can actually trump everybody else moving forward. >> and when we come back we'll talk about much more in a second

your colleagues in washington. if you are going to have a problem with them, what are you going to say to them as president to get them on board so that we can get legislation passed? >> it's a great question, robert, thank you for asking it. >> let me focus on two levels, let me explain how we actually change the direction in washington. it's not that i speak with a lack of civility or respect, you have seen in the presidential campaign as other people insult me, i don't respond in kind. the bible talks about if someone treats you unkindly, repay them with kindness. it's like keeping coals on the top of their head. that is the standard i have tried to follow. i have not attacked my colleagues in the senate, democrat or republican. even if i disagree with them on the issues i'll tell you why they say ted is unlikable in washington. because i'm actually honoring the commitments that i made to the women and men who elected me. for example, on planned parenthood, i used the fight with the budgetary congress to stop gi
